Woman killed by wild elephant

DIPHU, March 27: In the wee hours, a woman identified as Ramoriti Harijan (59) of Lingding Bihenru village was killed by a wild elephant at Chekso-Anglong under Baithalangso Police Station in West Karbi Anglong.

An elephant from Chekso-Anglong hills, Dongkamukam Forest Range, ventured into a nearby village and entered the house of Rajbolom Harijan, killing his wife Ramoriti Harijan on the spot. Police personnel from the Baithalangso Police Station have taken the deceased body for official procedures.
