KOKRAJHAR, July 16: The third U-13 football tournament, organised by the Kokrajhar district committee of the All Bodo Students Union (ABSU), commenced on Sunday at the Dotma HS school playground in Kokrajhar. The tournament aims to identify young sporting talents in the region.
The tournament was inaugurated by the general secretary of ABSU, Khanindra Basumatary, and renowned international women’s footballer Apurna Narzary, who graced the event as the chief guest and special guest, respectively.
The ABSU has been conducting this tournament annually as part of the Bodofa Sustainable for Change mission, with the objective of discovering sporting talents from across the region.
On the opening day, the Ramfalbil Anchalik Committee faced off against the South Kokrajhar Anchalik Committee.
Several prominent figures attended the event, including ABSU Vice President Khwrwmdao Wary, BTR Executive Member Ukil Mushahary, UPPL General Secretary Raju Kumar Narzary, and Political Secretary to the Chief Executive Member (BTR) Dr. Berlao K Karjie.
