Arms Recovered In Arunachal

DIBRUGARH, May 3: The 14th Rajput Regiment recovered a huge stash of arms and ammunition from the jungle area of Phinbiro-I under Manmao police station in Arunachal Pradesh’s Changlang district on Monday.

According to sources, the arms and ammunition were hidden by a proscribed outfit in the jungle area of Phinbiro-I.

“The  recovery items are AK 56 assault rifle 1 no with 4 rounds, SBML gun 2 nos, .22 pistol 1 no with 3 rounds, Pink power approx 40 gm, Bottle containing suspected explosive approx 450 grams,” said a police source.

Several factions of National Socialist Council of Nagaland (NSCN) are active in the Tirap, Longding and Changlang district of Arunachal Pradesh.

Meanwhile, security forces have started massive operations against the insurgent groups active in Arunachal Pradesh.
