Road mishap claims one

BISWANATH CHARIALI, May 5: One Ishwar Hazarika; a resident of Chatialchuk, Sootea died in a road accident on Wednesday night at around 10 pm in front of Chatia HS school under Biswanath district. He was 32. According to information, Ishwar was on his way home from Sootea old center when a truck bearing registration number AS01-FC9387 which was heading towards Lakhimpur from Tezpur knocked him and swerved him along with his motorcycle. Injured Ishwar was taken to Biswanath Chariali sub-divisional civil hospital immediately but was declared dead. The truck driver managed to escape from the site leaving the truck on the spot. Police investigation is on but no arrest has been made till writing of this report.
