MARGHERITA, May 9: Chhatra Natya Manch, Adarsha Hindi Vidyalaya on May 8 & 9 celebrated the 161st birth anniversary of Nobel prize winner and World poet Rabindra Nath Tagore at Adarsha Hindi Vidyalaya Auditorium Hall, Baragolai with a discussion on topic ‘Tagore’s Idea on Nationalism’.
The programme began with an art and drawing competition among school students followed by paying tribute to the portrait of Rabindra Nath Tagore.
A poem recitation, drama on a theme ‘Ekla Chole Re’ and Rabindra dance and songs was held among school students of Adarsha Hindi Vidyalaya, Baragolai.
After that, a discussion on ‘Tagore’s idea on Nationalism’ was held where many distinguished and renowned persons of Margherita and Tinsukia region such as Advocate Budhinath Prajapati from Tinsukia, Margherita Journalists Association advisor Ram Prasad Ambedkar, treasurer Mithun Baruah, Sabnam Basnet principal of Ledo Hill View School, Teacher Sikha Dey, Mompi Bhowmick, Chandan Das, Journalist Hemanta Ghosh, social worker of Margherita Kamlesh Kumar Dubey, Arun Rastogi, Noted Tabla Player of Margherita Bhupen Jyoti Das were present.
Ram Prasad Ambedkar in his speech said that the country’s first Nobel prize winner and world poet Rabindra Nath Tagore was against Nationalism as he believed that Nationalism will ruin our Secular, Socialist and Sovereign Democratic country.
