Silchar hospital gets Sampoorna Suraksha Kendra

SILCHAR, October 17 In a significant feat the Sampoorna Suraksha Kendra (SSK) was officially
inaugurated by the assistant commissioner and executive magistrate, Jonali Devi in presence of Asutosh
Barman, joint director of Silchar district health services, district AIDS control officer, medical officers of
SMDC&H, DISHA staff and officials from the Assam State AIDS Control Society at S.M Dev civil hospital
here on tuesday.
Speaking as the chief guest on the occasion, assistant commissioner Jonali Devi expressed her
enthusiasm for the establishment of the Sampoorna Suraksha Kendra and stressed the vital role it will
play in improving healthcare accessibility and quality in the region.
While speaking at the event, Asutosh Barman also emphasized the importance of collaborative efforts in
addressing public health challenges and lauded the collaboration between multiple stakeholders that
made this initiative possible.
Ratna Chakraborty, district AIDS control officer also spoke on the occasion and expressed her optimism
about the center’s potential impact on the community. She emphasized the need for collaborative
efforts to combat HIV/AIDS effectively and highlighted the center’s dedication to providing
comprehensive healthcare services and support to those in need.
It is noteworthy to mention that serving as the solitary center of its kind in Assam, Sampoorna Suraksha
Kendra (SSK) is a crucial initiative implemented by the National AIDS Control Organization (NACO) in
Cachar District. This initiative is pivotal in advancing the national HIV response, focusing on the
population ‘At Risk’ for HIV and STIs, with the goal of achieving the ambitious 95-95-95 targets and
curbing the onset of new HIV and STI/RTI infections through a tailored approach.
