New SMDC of Fuleswari HS School takes charge

SIVASAGAR, May 16: The new School Management & Development Committee (SMDC) of Fuleswari Girls’ Higher Secondary School, Sivasagar took charge and held its first meeting on Friday in the school which was presided over by the president Manoj Kumar Borthakur. Pronab Baruah, principal-in-charge and secretary, spoke on the objectives and informed during the meeting that the government of Assam has granted Rs 3 crores for infrastructure development of the school. The meeting elected four guardian members from the SC, ST, General, and other categories for the 14-member committee including the chairperson of the Sivasagar Municipality Board, Makhan Gogoi; vice president, Diganta Saud; Juri Konwar, Mafida Begum, Purnanada Das, and other government nominees. The meeting, among other things, decided to draw the attention of the police administration to the mischief caused by unruly bike stunts near Fuleswari School during school hours. The meeting also decided to develop the school playground with the assistance of Sivasagar Girls’ College. The meeting was addressed by Dr. Gobin Handique and Diganta Saud and Rekha Hazarika. The president, in his speech, urged the members and the guardians to extend generous cooperation in building the academic atmosphere of the school and in keeping the long tradition and reputation of the century-old school.
