Assam Cricket Association’s VP appointed as observer for Afghanistan vs India T20 match

Guwahati, Jan 9: Rajdeep Oja, Vice President of Assam Cricket Association, has been appointed as an observer for the first T20 match between Afghanistan and India, which is scheduled for January 11, 2024, in Mohali.

India’s squad for the IDFC First Bank T20I series against Afghanistan was announced by the Men’s Selection Committee. Rohit Sharma will lead the team, with Jitesh Sharma and Sanju Samson as wicketkeepers.

The team includes versatile players like Shivam Dube, Washington Sundar, and Axar Patel. Ravi Bishnoi and Kuldeep Yadav will be the leg spinners, while Avesh Khan, Arshdeep Singh, and Mukesh Kumar will handle the pace bowling.

The other batsmen are Shubman Gill, Rinku Singh, Yashasvi Jaiswal, and Tilak Varma. Suryakumar Yadav, the previous T20Is captain, is not in the squad due to an ankle injury.

The second match will be on January 14 in Indore, concluding on January 17 in Bengaluru. The full squad is Rohit Sharma (Captain), Shubman Gill, Yashasvi Jaiswal, Virat Kohli, Tilak Varma, Rinku Singh, Jitesh Sharma (wk), Sanju Samson (wk), Shivam Dube, Washington Sundar, Axar Patel, Ravi Bishnoi, Kuldeep Yadav, Arshdeep Singh, Avesh Khan and Mukesh Kumar.
