Former Tripura TMC leader Pijush Kanti Biswas rejoins Congress

Agartala, Feb 27: Pijush Kanti Biswas, the former president of the Tripura Pradesh Congress Committee, who had left the TMC and resigned from his position last year, has returned to the Congress.

He was welcomed back into the party at the AICC headquarters today, in the presence of Girish Chodankar, Ashish Kumar Saha, and Dr Vineet Punia.

Chodankar praised Biswas’ rise from the grassroots, through the NSUI and Youth Congress, to PCC president, before he resigned, formed his own party, and joined the TMC.

Biswas expressed his gratitude for being accepted back into the party and commended Rahul Gandhi’s ‘Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra’.

He criticised PM Narendra Modi’s attitude towards Manipur and accused him of damaging the constitution and democracy.

He also expressed his belief that only Rahul Gandhi could defeat PM Modi and urged former Congress members to return to the party. He predicted that the Congress would win against the BJP in the upcoming elections.
