Jamiat Ulama workers distribute relief items to 150 evicted families

HOJAI, May 31: On the direction of state president of Assam State Jamiat Ulama, Moulana Mustaque Anfar, the workers of Jamiat Ulama distributed relief among 150 evicted families at Shilhaku, Borbari, Guwahati on Saturday, a press communique stated here. As per the communique, Assam State Jamiat Ulama in co-operation with Guwahati (Metro) Jamiat Ulama came forward to help the evicted families who were having tough time due to the eviction drive carried on recently. The families are homeless amid this scorching heat and rainfall. Seeing their condition, the team of Jamiat handed over packets consisting of rice, dal (lentils), sugar, cheera, potato, onion, biscuit, mosquito net, etc. The team also requested the government to take immediate measures to rehabilitate these families. During the relief distribution, Firoz Ahmed, publicity secretary; Imran Hussain Khandar, vice-president, Kamrup (Metro) District Jamiat Ulama, sub-committee; Shijuddin Ahmed; Sheikh Abdul Mazid, general secretary; Hafiz Parvez Maruf, organisational secretary and many other volunteers were present during this noble cause.
