GUWAHATI, June 1: Purabi Dairy, a brand under Assam’s largest dairy cooperative, West Assam Milk Producers’ Cooperative Union Limited (WAMUL), observed World Milk Day by flagging off two Purabi Dairy branded vehicles which went throughout the city to generate awareness about the benefits of milk and milk products. Notably, the branded vehicles were flagged off by managing director, WAMUL, Satya Brata Bose from the dairy plant at Panjabari in Guwahati on June 1.
Adhering to the World Milk Day 2022 theme – “Sustainability in the dairy industry, as well as nutritional, environmental, and socio-economic empowerment”, through this initiative, Purabi Dairy distributed pamphlets to create awareness, and citizens were offered cool milk as well. The initiative covered multiple locations in Guwahati including Sixmile, Ganeshguri, Beltola, Kahilipara, Bhangagarh, Paltan Bazar, Pan Bazar, Silpukhuri, Chandmari, Uzanbazar, Maligaon, Adabari, Jalukbari, etc.
Speaking on the initiative, Satya Brata Bose, managing director, WAMUL, said, “Dairy sector in Assam has immense potential. On this World Milk Day, I urge the new generation to involve themselves in various dairy-related activities, which will help in the economic development of themselves, their village, and the state. Everyone should feel proud to be part of this socio-economic revolution and enjoy dairying.”
