SHILLONG, April 10: Meghalaya unit president of National People’s Party (NPP) and deputy chief minister Pretone Tynsong has said that the cash of Rs 1 crore seized in Arunachal Pradesh does not belong to Meghalaya chief minister Conrad K Sangma.
Speaking to the media on Tuesday, Tynsong said, “The seizure made by the officials of the Election Commission of India does not belong to the chief minister Conrad K Sangma, who is also our national president of NPP.”
He said the vehicle which the ECI had detained was not at a part of the chief minister’s convoy and the cash worth Rs 1.2 crore recovered from the vehicle also does not belong to the NPP.
Stating that the matter is under investigation, the NPP state president said, “Let the ECI take due course of legal action.” (NNN)
