Guwahati, May 3: The National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT) and Guwahati police launched a joint operation in the Pan Bazar area on Friday afternoon.
The operation targeted three reputed bookstores, Binimoy New and Old Books, Novelty New and Old Books, and Kitab Bhawan, suspected of selling counterfeit NCERT books. A significant amount of fake NCERT books were seized during the operation.

Six individuals have been detained by the city police for questioning related to the alleged violation. The operation, which began two hours ago, is still underway, with more details expected.
