TIP to oppose scrapping of FMR, border fencing

IMPHAL, MAY 17: Transborder Indigenous People (TIP) has asserted that it will oppose the scrapping of the Free Movement Regime (FMR) and border fencing in Naga areas.

TIP is an organisation of the cross border Naga community. It comprises Nagas living in Myanmar and India.

According to TIP, the aim of the organisation is to strengthen the family ties of the Naga people who straddle the international boundary.

Meanwhile, TIP in its meeting in Ukhrul on Thursday deliberated “whatever is democratically possible to pressure both the governments of India and Myanmar not to further divide the Naga family. (NNN)
