Tehran, May 19: Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi was part of a ‘hard landing’ incident with his helicopter on Sunday afternoon, as per The Jerusalem Post, which referred to Iranian media for the information.
The exact circumstances of the incident are still unclear, but initial reports point to foggy weather conditions as a possible cause. Iran’s Tasnim News Agency reported that search operations were underway for the president’s helicopter, with the fog complicating the efforts.

The helicopter was said to be carrying not just President Raisi, but also Iran’s Foreign Minister, Hossein Amir-Abdollahian, Mohammad Ali Ale-Hashem, the representative of the Guardianship of the Islamic Jurist in East Azerbaijan, and the Imam of Friday Prayer in Tabriz.
According to official Iranian media, the convoy consisted of three helicopters, out of which two landed safely while the third was involved in the incident. This information was released by the Deputy Coordinator of Civil Affairs for East Azerbaijan. The incident happened shortly after President Raisi’s meeting with Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev earlier in the day at the Azerbaijani-Iranian border.
