AASU meeting held in Biswanath

BISWANATH CHARIALI, June 8: A session of Biswanath chapter of the All Assam Students’ Union was held at Rupjyoti Kala Parishad here on Saturday.

The day-long programme began with hoisting of the institutional flag by Bhaskar Samuwa, president in-charge of Biswanath AASU followed by swahid tarpan offered by Dipjyoti Hazarika, general secretary in-charge of Biswanath AASU in the morning on Saturday.

The session was inaugurated by Dhrubajyoti Bora, publicity secretary of AASU.

Dipjyoti Hazarika explained the objectives of the session. Assistant general secretary Nitul Bora and games secretary Simanta Neog graced the session as observers. A series of organisational resolutions to strengthen the students’ union were adopted in the meeting.

The session was also addressed by Bikram Bikash Bora, central executive member. The session was attended by representatives from nine regional committees under Biswanath AASU. At the end of the meeting Md Ajmat Sheikh and Bhubaneswar Tanti were given the charge of president and secretary of Biswanath AASU.  Bhaskar Samuwa who has served as the Biswanath AASU for 15 years holding various portfolios was given a farewell. All the proceedings of the session were carried out by Md Ajmat Sheikh, advisor to Biswanath AASU.
