DIPHU, July 1: As part of a weeklong 71st Van Mahotsav, the DFO, Forest, East Division, Jaganath Rongpi and in charge DFO, Forest West Division along with the staff of West Division planted citrus fruit and tree saplings in front of the West Division Forest office here on Friday.
Informing about the observation of Van Mahotsav DFO Rongpi said the weeklong observation is being taken up in order to spread awareness on the conservation of forests and to save the environment. It is to encourage people to plant trees for a better environment.

Here at the West Division office, as part of the Van Mohotsav celebration, the staff has planted fruit saplings in their office premises.
“I urge every person to contribute to the conservation of forest by planting trees in their compound, roadside or on free land. Trees of any variety can be planted,” the DFO said.
During this weeklong celebration, different Forest Ranges will organise independent tree plantation programmes.
