‘Asom Gourav’ recipient Kalpana Boro passes away

KOKRAJHAR, July 10: Noted Anganwadi worker and Asom Gourav Award-2022 winner, Kalpana Boro passed away on Sunday morning at her Balisiha residence near Rowta in Udalguri district of Bodoland Territorial Region (BTR) after a brief illness.
Kalpana Boro is well known for efficient rapport building with community as an Anganwadi worker in the region as well across the state. She showed great performance in providing supplementary nutrition & regular growth monitoring of SAM (severe acute malnutrition) for children.
She won the Asom Gourav Award for the year of 2022 for her great work for the wellbeing of the children as an Anganwadi worker and for her dedication & efficient work for the upliftment of the community.
Boro breathed her last at her Rowta residence of Udalguri district. She has been undergoing treatment for her ailments since the last few years.
Peoples from all walks of cutting across the communities in the region extended condolences and mourned over her untimely demise.
Bodoland Territorial Region (BTR) chief executive member Pramod Boro, BTR executive member Dr Nilut Swargiary extended condolences to the bereaved family members and prayers for the departed soul.
“Deeply saddened by the unfortunate demise of Kalpana Boro, an anganwadi worker from Balisiha village of Udalguri district, who won Asom Gourav Award, 2022 from Government of Assam for her contribution to society. I extend my condolences to the bereaved family members and prayers for the departed soul,” said Pramod Boro.
