GUWAHATI, Oct 23: A delegation of the Tax Bar Association, Guwahati, led by president advocate Dinesh Kumar Sharma, paid a courtesy call on Lakshman Prasad Acharya, the Governor of Assam, at Raj Bhavan on Tuesday. The delegation included president advocate Dinesh Kumar Sharma, vice president advocate Sanjay Kumar Sureka, treasurer CA Manas Jain, Executive Committee member CA Vijay Agarwal, and member Mukesh Sharma.
The delegation held meaningful discussions with the Governor on important issues like the economic development and advancement of Assam and informed him that the organisation currently has more than 450 members striving to strengthen the state’s economic growth. The Governor praised Assam’s social culture and natural beauty, noting that the state’s historical heritage and religious sites are also well-positioned to promote tourism.
On behalf of the delegation, a request was made for the state government to provide suitable plots to the Tax Bar Association, enabling the Association to build a modern center to attract and invite investors from around the world through the resources and contacts of its members. The Governor’s response to this proposal was very positive.
In a press release issued on Wednesday, secretary CA Gopal Singhania stated that the Tax Bar Association would soon approach the relevant ministry to pursue the matter. Additionally, the organisation plans to invite the Governor and organise a program to allow all members to benefit from his experience and guidance.
