Karbi Anglong DC Nirola Phangchopi announces publication of DPER for 2024-25

DIPHU, Oct 29: The District Commissioner of Karbi Anglong, Nirola Phangchopi held a press meeting to announce the publication of the Draft Photo Electoral Roll (DPER) for 2024-2025, as per the directions of the Election Commission of India.

The press meet was attended by ADC Chandan Borgohain, ACS election officer, DIPRO, and representatives from various media outlets.

The Draft Photo Electoral Roll 2025 has been published with January 1, 2025, as the qualifying date, and the period for filing claims and objections regarding inclusion, modification, or deletion is open from October 29 to November 28, 2024. The final publication of the electoral roll is scheduled for January 6, 2025.

The draft electoral roll is available for public inspection at all polling stations and the election branch of the deputy commissioner’s office in Karbi Anglong, during office hours. The current draft reflects a total voter count of 520,224 for the district, representing a net increase of 0.57% from the last final publication on February 8, 2024, held prior to the parliamentary election.

Of these, 257,739 are male voters, showing a 0.45% increase, and 262,484 are female voters, with a 0.68% increase from the previous roll. The updated voter population by legislative assembly constituencies stands at 152,973 for Bokajan, 187,725 for Howraghat, and 179,526 for Diphu, showing varying increases across these regions, the DC informed.

The DC further mentioned that the pre-revision efforts have included house-to-house verification, polling station rationalisation, and addressing discrepancies in the voter list.

Following these activities, 23 new polling stations have been added across the district, with specific new additions in each constituency, namely Bokajan, Howraghat, and Diphu, to better serve the electorate and streamline the voting process.

She also said the public and all registered voters are encouraged to check their details in the Draft Photo Electoral Roll 2025. Claims and objections can be filed in person at the election branch or through digital means, including the BLO and voter helpline apps, or online at www.voters.eci.gov.in.

Forms available include Form 6 for new voter registration, Form 7 for objections to inclusions or deletions, and Form 8 for address changes, corrections, or EPIC replacement.

The DC urged all booth level officers (BLOs) to work diligently and visit villages to ensure accurate voter data. This effort will help in achieving a comprehensive and error-free electoral roll for the district, ensuring all eligible citizens are properly represented.

Meanwhile, the district commissioner of West Karbi Anglong, Sarangapani Sharma, along with district election officer Arnika Lekthepi, held a press conference at the district commissioner’s conference hall in Hamren today, to announce the draft publication of the electoral roll for the two assembly constituencies No.111 Rongkhang (ST) LAC and No.112 Amri (ST) LAC.

The DC informed that the total voters of in the district is 2, 27,692 out of which 1, 13,294 are female and 1, 14,393 are male. Rongkhang has a total of 1, 29858 voters, out of which 6,5,414 are male and 64, 444 are female. Meanwhile, Amri has a total of 97,834 out of which 48,984 are male and 48,850 are female.             

The total polling stations of the two LACs is 312 in the district, which may be increased or decreased based on requirements, informed the DC. The press conference was also attended by MLA of Baithalangso, Rupsing Teron and ward commissioner of Dongkamukam town.

The DC further stated that the draft electoral roll has been published to ensure transparency and accuracy in the electoral process.
