TEZPUR, Dec 4: Manoj Borah, a senior journalist from the Tezpur area, took part in the roundtable discussion on the 16th BRICS Kazan Summit held at the India International Centre, New Delhi, on November 28. Borah is the first media professional from the northern belt privileged to attend such a prestigious and high-profile event to deliver a speech on an international issue. He has been accorded several honours for his dedicated service to journalism.
At the event, he spoke on border trade, border road development, and counter-insurgency with a special reference to tunnel development in the border areas of Bumla Pass and Nathula Pass. Earlier, he also participated in the silver jubilee celebration of the Kargil War, called ‘Vijay Utsav’, held at Ladakh University on August 2, 2024.
The event, addressed by Prof Manoranjan Mohanty (political scientist), Ruchira Beri (senior fellow at the Vivekananda International Foundation), Dr Ash Narain Roy (director, Institute of Social Sciences), Dr Vjaindra Upadhyay (retired professor, IIT), Dr Usha KB (JNU professor), and Tarun Kumar (national convenor, People’s Forum for a Multi-Polar World), provided an ideal platform for intellectual exploration.
