DIPHU, Dec 22: A mother in North Cachar Hills district, whose two daughters have been missing since 2020, has urged the public to help her find her children.

The mother’s appeal comes after the police couldn’t find out the missing children.

As per a police complaint lodged at Langting Police Station in NC Hills district on November 20, 2020, with case No. PS C/No-22/2020, under section 363 of the IPC, the mother had gone to Langting market when her two young daughters, Momta Riyang and Momi Riyang, both aged 4 at the time, went out to their Jhum cultivation site accompanied by their two pet dogs while their grandfather was sleeping on November 15, 2020.

Surprisingly, the next day the two dogs returned home, while the two children failed to return. Following this, the villagers searched all the nearby areas and jungles, but could hardly find a trace.

Later, the Investigating Officer (I/O) inspected the place of occurrence, examined the complainant and recorded the statements of witnesses while an extensive search operation was conducted in the jungle and other areas for the two missing children.

Mami Riyang, age-4 years (4 years back); height 3ft 6’’ (approx); complexion white; hair short (less hair); wearing white colour T-shirt; language spoken Dimasa and shape of the face is round.

“Any person with the necessary information or knowledge of the missing children may inform or contact at 8638389873 and 9101162410,” urged the mother.
