Advantage Assam 2.0 Summit 2025 held in Sonitpur

TEZPUR, Feb 10: A one-day district-level workshop on “Advantage Assam 2.0 – Investment and Infrastructure Summit 2025” was held on Monday (February 10) at the Conference Hall of the District Commissioner’s Office, Sonitpur.

The event was jointly organised by the Sonitpur and Biswanath District Administrations, along with the District Industries and Commerce Centres (DICC) of Sonitpur and Biswanath.

As part of the workshop, Morgan Meston, general manager of DICC, Sonitpur, delivered a multimedia presentation highlighting the central theme and key aspects of the summit.

This was followed by district-specific sectoral presentations by relevant departments, outlining investment opportunities in key sectors such as agriculture, IT, tourism, NABARD-supported projects, animal husbandry, and others.

With the active participation of around 200 participants from Sonitpur and around 100 participants of Biswanath comprising industrialists, entrepreneurs, SHG & FPC members, representatives from North Assam Chamber of Commerce, the deliberations were successful.

During the workshop, entrepreneurs from various sectors across Sonitpur and Biswanath shared their challenges and sought government support to improve business-related infrastructure and facilities. Addressing the gathering, minister Pijush Hazarika encouraged entrepreneurs to stay connected with relevant government departments to access necessary benefits and support.

He also assured them that their concerns would be addressed effectively.

Guardian minister of Sonitpur district, Pijush Hazarika attended the event as the chief guest. The workshop was also graced by the presence of MLA of Tezpur LAC, Prithiraj Rava, MLA of Barchalla LAC, Ganesh Kumar Limbu, MLA of Rangapara LAC, Krishna Kamal Tanti, district commissioner of Sonitpur,  Ankur Bharali, district commissioner of Biswanath,  Munindra Nath Ngatey, vice chairperson of AMTRON,  Ritu Baran Sarmah, and district development commissioner of Sonitpur, Lakhinandan Saharia, along with senior officials from both district administrations.
