Cachar administration sets up training help desk ahead of Panchayat Election

SILCHAR, April 27: In preparation for the forthcoming Panchayat Election 2025, the Cachar District Administration has taken a decisive step by establishing a Training Help Desk at Cachar College, Silchar.

 Located in Room No 18 on the ground floor, the Help Desk will be operational on the of April 27 to 29 from 10:30 am to 4:00 pm each day, with the express purpose of equipping polling personnel with the necessary training and guidance for the smooth conduct of the polls.

A team of competent Master Trainers and staff has been deployed to manage the Help Desk, ensuring that all queries related to poll procedures and election-related matters are addressed efficiently. The team comprises Er Saurav Dey and Kalyan Das, both Assistant Professors from Assam University, Silchar; Hemanta Kumar Bora, Assistant Professor of Cachar College, Silchar; along with Siddhartha Bora and  Rajdeep Boraik, both Grade-IV staff members. Their collective expertise is expected to greatly aid polling personnel in understanding and executing their duties with precision and confidence.

This initiative reflects a broader administrative effort to instil professionalism and procedural clarity among election officials. Training modules are expected to cover vital aspects of ballot boxes and proper management of polling materials, and adherence to the established norms of the electoral process. By addressing doubts and ensuring that personnel are well-prepared, the administration seeks to mitigate operational challenges on polling day.

The Training Help Desk has been instituted under the direction of Yuvraj Borthakur, Additional District Commissioner, Cachar, who heads the Training and Coordination Cell for the Panchayat Election. His leadership underscores the district’s commitment to conducting free, fair, and efficient elections. With this proactive measure, the Cachar Administration reinforces its resolve to uphold the integrity of the electoral process, setting a benchmark for meticulous planning and execution ahead of the crucial Panchayat polls.
