Minister Ranjit Das reviews welfare schemes in Morigaon

MORIGAON, July 8: Assam Minister of Panchayat & Rural Development and Tourism, Ranjit Das, visited Morigaon on Monday and reviewed the implementation of various central welfare schemes at a meeting held in the Deputy Commissioner’s conference hall.

The review meeting was chaired by Morigaon Deputy Commissioner Anamika Tiwari.

The minister interacted with officials and staff present, focusing on key programmes including the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana–Gramin (PMAY-G).

He sought updates from all Block Development Officers on Aadhaar seeding under the National Social Support Programme.

Discussions were also held on self-help groups formed under the Assam State Rural Livelihood Mission (ASRLM), with the minister reviewing their activities, access to credit, and market linkages.

He instructed the district administration to offer more training and skill development to help group members scale up their products and expand market reach.

Das emphasised timely and transparent execution of all ongoing schemes and suggested holding awareness campaigns at the Gaon Panchayat level.

The meeting was attended by Morigaon MLA Ramakant Deuri, MZP CEO Ananta Kumar Gogoi, Jagiroad Co-District Commissioner Hriday Kumar Das, Additional DC Nitisha Bora, Assistant Commissioner Arishma Kashyap, BDOs, and officials from the Panchayat and Rural Development Department, along with other senior officers.
