ITANAGAR, July 18: In a morale-boosting interaction, Chairman John Neelam and Vice-Chairman Bengia Yayang Tadar of the Sports Authority of Arunachal (SAA) on Friday met members of the Junior State Football Team ahead of their participation in the upcoming Dr BC Roy Trophy 2025–26.
The national-level championship will be held from July 27 to 31 in Balaghat, Madhya Pradesh.
The SAA leadership commended the players’ preparation and urged them to represent Arunachal Pradesh with pride, unity, and discipline.
“You are not just representing yourselves; you are carrying the hopes and aspirations of an entire state,” said Neelam, encouraging the players to trust in their training and maintain the spirit of sportsmanship.
Vice-Chairman Tadar acknowledged the rising recognition of football talent from Arunachal and reaffirmed institutional support to the team.
She encouraged the players to stay focused and make the most of the opportunity.
As a gesture of solidarity, the officials distributed track suits to all players and staff members, symbolising team unity and support.
The SAA also reiterated its commitment to grassroots sports development by ensuring logistical aid, infrastructure, and motivation to budding athletes.
The team, led by Head Coach Rocky Ramching, will be representing Arunachal Pradesh with a 21-member squad.
The SAA extended its best wishes to the team for a spirited and successful campaign at the national stage.
