Gauhati University conducts B.Ed entrance 2025

GUWAHATI, July 20: Gauhati University successfully conducted the B.Ed Common Entrance Test (GUBEDCET-2025) on Sunday, registering a high attendance rate of 96.58 percent and reaffirming its position as a trusted academic institution in the region.

Out of 15,282 registered candidates, 14,760 appeared for the examination, which was held in 18 centres across 16 cities of Assam.

At the Gauhati University centre alone, 3,332 candidates sat for the test.

The University reported that the entire process was completed without any disruptions.

Vice Chancellor Professor Nani Gopal Mahanta described the turnout as a reflection of the growing trust and aspirations associated with Gauhati University.

“The overwhelming participation in GUBEDCET-2025 is an affirmation of the growing trust and aspiration students associate with Gauhati University. Our mission has always been to inspire, enable and empower students, and this response encourages us to keep raising the bar,” he said.

Registrar Dr Utpal Sarma noted that the smooth conduct of the entrance test was the result of meticulous planning and effective coordination.

He thanked all stakeholders involved and extended his best wishes to the candidates.

The University, which recently received A+ accreditation from NAAC and global recognition in the Times Higher Education World University Rankings 2025, has also completed its postgraduate entrance process this month.

Over 42,000 applications were received for approximately 4,500 PG seats.

With its growing academic footprint and continued student engagement, Gauhati University reiterated its commitment to nurturing future educators and scholars through accessible and quality education.
