BTR CEM Pramod Boro  Interacts With KVK Scientists In Gossaigaon

GOSSAIGAON, Aug 12: Bodoland Territorial Region chief executive member (CEM) Pramod Boro on a sudden visit to Gossaigaon chaired an interactive session with the scientists and researchers of Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Gossaigaon. The session was held to discuss the need and importance of upgrading scientific technologies in today’s era of farming at the conference hall of KVK on Wednesday.
Gautam Bhagwati, scientist, KVK, Gossaigaon while addressing the interactive session elaborated how the farmers can move forward and avail benefits by using scientific methods to increase production in the field of farming.
After prolonged discussion with the scientists and researchers of KVK, Gossaigaon, BTR CEM Promod Boro shared his own experiences of farming at home and benefits that he availed from it. He urged the scientists to take the research to the middle of the field rather than being limited to KVK alone for the greater interest of the society.
In an interview with the reporters, Pramod Boro avowed that the BTAD area is a region that depends entirely on agriculture. Even now most of the people of BTAD depend on agriculture but due to the inability of the farmers to do agricultural work in a scientific manner, they are not able to earn well by increasing production and are not able to meet the demands of the market.
In order to move forward economically, the farmers have to be trained.
Stating that KVK has excelled in agricultural production through research in Bodoland, the BTR chief said, “Since KVK is fully equipped with research on agricultural production, and in any case, if the department of Agriculture works jointly in the field with KVK, the production will be greatly increased and there will be economic development in the society.”
