Tripura set to sign MoU with REC Limited for power infrastructure projects

AGARTALA, Sept 5: The Tripura Power Department is expected to sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with REC Limited to implement power infrastructure projects in the state.

REC Limited, formerly known as Rural Electrification Corporation Limited, is a ‘Maharatna’ public sector company under the Ministry of Power, Government of India. It is registered with the RBI as a Non-Banking Finance Company (NBFC), Public Financial Institution (PFI), and Infrastructure Financing Company (IFC), and is engaged in financing and promoting power projects across India.

Tripura Power Secretary Abhishek Singh, IAS, recently visited the REC Corporate Office in Gurugram to explore collaborative opportunities in the power sector. 

During his visit, he toured the REC Experience Centre, which features interactive installations highlighting REC’s achievements and its vision for funding a greener future. Speaking to this publication, Singh said, “We will be partnering with REC to advance power infrastructure projects in Tripura. We expect the MoU to be signed within a month.”
