The deadline set by the Special Investigation Team (SIT) for the appearance of several Singapore-based Assamese individuals linked to the death of singer Zubeen Garg ends today, October 6. Despite repeated notices, none have appeared before the investigators.
SIT had summoned all those reportedly present in Singapore during the incident, including Tanmoy Phukan, Abhimanyu Talukdar, Debojyoti Hazarika, Rupkamal Kalita, Siddharth Bora, Parikshit Sharma, Sudipta Chatterjee, and Wajid Ahmed. None have returned or cooperated with the probe.
According to the officials, the non-compliance of these individuals has raised concerns about the transparency of the investigation. While some cited personal or technical reasons, others did not respond. The CID warned that continued non-cooperation could delay progress, and the SIT is now considering stricter legal measures.
