NAGAON, Oct 6: Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav visited the Kaziranga National Park and Tiger Reserve on Sunday, reaffirming the national and cultural significance of the UNESCO World Heritage Site.
CM Yadav toured the Bagori Range of the park and was received by Nagaon Deputy Commissioner Debashish Sarma and other senior officials. The visit was part of a broader initiative to promote inter-state cultural ties and tourism.
Kaziranga, located on the southern bank of the Brahmaputra River, is globally renowned for being the habitat of the one-horned rhinoceros, along with elephants, tigers, wild buffaloes, deer, and a wide variety of birds and reptiles.
Recognised for its biodiversity and natural landscape, Kaziranga attracts domestic and international tourists year-round. The Chief Minister’s visit is expected to further boost tourism and strengthen ties between Assam and Madhya Pradesh.
Local officials stated that such high-profile visits help spotlight Kaziranga’s ecological importance and reinforce its cultural connection with the people of Assam.
