Tinsukia, Oct 08 : Assam Education Minister Ranoj Pegu attended a meeting at the Singpho Eco Lodge conference hall in Tirap, Tinsukia, where several tribal organisations of the Tirap Tribal Belt gathered in the presence of Central Committee of Tribal Organisations of Assam (CCTOA) leaders.
The discussion centred on safeguarding the land rights of marginal tribal communities, including the Tangsa, Sema, and Singpho, along with other indigenous and Gorkha groups residing in the region.
The meeting concluded with several consensus-based resolutions aimed at promoting unity, peace, and development across the tribal belt.
Participants agreed to present the collective proposals to Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma in the next phase, emphasising community-driven solutions to protect tribal identity and ensure equitable regional growth.
