Gueahati 17 Oct: The Singapore Police Force (SPF) has stated that initial investigations into the death of renowned Assamese singer Zubeen Garg show no indication of foul play. The case is currently being examined under the Coroners Act 2010 to determine the exact cause and circumstances of his death. Officials said the investigation may take up to three months before findings are presented to the State Coroner, who will decide if a Coroner’s Inquiry is required.
On 1 October, SPF provided the High Commission of India with Garg’s autopsy report and preliminary findings following their formal request. A Coroner’s Inquiry, if conducted, will serve as a public fact-finding process to establish how the death occurred. Authorities emphasised that the process ensures transparency and accuracy in all sudden or unexplained deaths in Singapore.
