GUWAHATI, Oct 31: Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Friday that the Singapore government has forwarded the toxicology report related to the late singer Zubeen Garg’s case to the Criminal Investigation Department (CID), Assam.
The report, however, is yet to physically reach Guwahati, where the Special Investigation Team (SIT) is currently probing the matter.

Speaking to the media, the Chief Minister said that the SIT has made “substantial progress” in its investigation and is confident of submitting the chargesheet within the stipulated time.
“The team is working day and night to ensure justice for Zubeen Garg,” Sarma stated.
Addressing public doubts and criticism, the CM urged sceptics to have faith in the investigation. “Those who question justice for Zubeen Garg should reconsider their stance before December 15. The SIT’s diligent work will speak for itself. They will have to change their own remarks,” he asserted.
Sarma also cautioned against attempts to politicise the high-profile case.
“Issues like Bangladeshi infiltrators cannot derail this process. Some have tried to draw premature conclusions, but justice will prevail,” he said firmly.
Commenting on recent political debates surrounding the case, the Chief Minister said, “Let it be clear that Lurin will not contest elections for Zubeen’s justice. The Chief Minister always speaks the truth.”
In a separate remark, Sarma levelled serious allegations against Congress MP Gaurav Gogoi, claiming he is “acting as a Pakistani agent.” “I have sufficient evidence but, considering the ongoing elections, I have chosen to wait. Once the Zubeen Garg matter is settled, I will take necessary action,” Sarma added.
