Governor Lakshman Prasad Acharya condoles demise of flautist Deepak Sarma

GUWAHATI, Nov 3: Governor Lakshman Prasad Acharya has expressed deep sorrow over the passing away of internationally acclaimed flautist Deepak Sarma, who breathed his last on Monday morning.

In a condolence message, the Governor said, “Assam has lost a distinguished musician whose contribution to Indian classical music, particularly in popularising the flute on global platforms, will be remembered for generations. His soulful renditions and dedication to the art of music have left an indelible mark on the cultural heritage of our state and the nation. His demise is an irreparable loss to the world of music,” Acharya stated.

The Governor also conveyed his empathy to the bereaved family and prayed to the Almighty for eternal peace of the departed soul.
