GUWAHATI, Nov 6: BSA has unveiled its first-ever adventure motorcycle, the Thunderbolt, at the ongoing EICMA 2025 in Milan.
The new model marks the brand’s entry into the adventure segment and carries forward the legacy of the original Thunderbolt, the last motorcycle to roll off BSA’s Birmingham production line in 1972.
The new BSA Thunderbolt, the fourth bike from the company’s lineup, is scheduled to hit the market by mid-2026.
It is designed for both daily commuting and off-road exploration, combining classic design cues with modern technology.
The adventure model features traction control, three ABS modes—Rain, Road, and Off-Road—along with a preload-adjustable monoshock suspension, slip-and-assist clutch, and upswept exhaust for enhanced water-wading capability.
Powered by a Euro 5+ compliant 334cc liquid-cooled DOHC single-cylinder engine paired with a six-speed gearbox, the Thunderbolt promises high torque and efficiency for long-distance rides.
A large fuel tank, low seat height, adjustable windscreen, and wide handlebars make it suitable for riders of all experience levels.
Anupam Thareja, Co-founder of Classic Legends Pvt. Ltd., which owns BSA, described the Thunderbolt as “the best 350 ADV in the world,” adding that the launch also marks the debut of a global adventure platform for the company’s brands BSA, Jawa, and Yezdi.
“The BSA ‘signature’ is deeply rooted in its history—the design silhouette, the competitions won, and the records set,” Thareja said.
“Unveiling the new BSA Thunderbolt at EICMA underscores our intention to bring BSA back to the world stage,” he added.
Classic Legends Co-founder Boman Irani said the new model combines dynamic on- and off-road performance with comfort and reliability.
“BSA doesn’t just build motorcycles, it builds legends—and the new Thunderbolt proudly carries that legacy forward,” he said.
The unveiling follows the introduction of the BSA Bantam 350 and BSA Scrambler 650, both of which also made their Italian debut at EICMA. The company’s revival began in 2022 with the launch of the BSA Gold Star 650, blending vintage aesthetics with modern engineering.
