Body of Missing Retired Government Employee Found in Guwahati

Guwahati, Nov 10: The body of a 64-year-old man was recovered from a canal near the CM Vigilance office in Guwahati after being spotted by locals. Police identified him as Madan Mohan Deuri Bharali, a retired Agriculture Department employee from North Lakhimpur.

Bharali had gone missing on November 6 while staying with relatives in the city. A woman who had been caring for him reported his disappearance. She told police that Bharali had been mentally unstable and often disoriented in recent months.

Officers from Birubari Police Station said the body appeared to have been in the water for several days. The cause of death remains unclear.
