GUWAHATI, Nov 19: Assam Chief Minister Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma visited the Swahid Smarak Khetra at Boragaon on Nov 19 to review the final preparations for its inauguration on Dec 10, observed across the state as Swahid Divas. His visit drew attention as the site is set to become a major landmark honouring the martyrs of the Assam Movement.

During the inspection, the Chief Minister closely reviewed the finishing work around the newly built Swahid Smarak, a towering monument designed to reflect Assam’s collective memory and gratitude. The Swahid Smarak Khetra, positioned as a central space of remembrance, is expected to attract visitors from across Assam when it opens on Dec 10.
