DC briefs political parties on electoral roll revision schedule

Special revision to culminate with final publication on February 10, 2026

HAFLOING, Nov 20: District Commissioner Munindra Nath Ngatey, ACS, convened a meeting with political parties followed by a press briefing on Thursday to outline the Election Commission of India’s directives for the special revision of the electoral roll in Assam with the final voter list slated for publication on February 10, 2026. ADC (Election) Shauryya Sharma and Election Officer Hitesh Baro, ACS were also present.

The Election Commission has notified that January 1, 2026 will serve as the qualifying date for the revision exercise. The DC informed that house-to-house verification by BLOs, rationalisation and rearrangement of polling stations and removal of discrepancies in the electoral roll or EPIC will take place from November 22 to December 20, 2025. Training of election officials and printing of documents and circulars is scheduled between November 18 and 21, 2025.

Preparation of Formats 1 to 8 and the integrated draft roll with reference to the January 1 qualifying date will be carried out between December 21 and 26, 2025. The integrated draft electoral roll is set for publication on December 27, 2025.

Filing of claims and objections, along with their disposal will be conducted from December 27, 2025 to January 22, 2026. Dates for special camps to facilitate claims and objections will be announced later, the DC said. Disposal of claims and objections will be completed by February 2, 2026.

The checking of health parameters of the roll, obtaining the Commission’s approval for final publication, updating the database and printing of supplements will be completed by February 6, 2026, before the final publication on February 10, 2026.

The integrated draft electoral roll of the Dima Hasao constituency—113-Haflong (ST) LAC—will also be published on December 27, 2025 at the District Election Office, Haflong and in all designated polling stations. Voters may contact the official helpline or visit the NVSP portal and BLO App for assistance.
