Fourth volume of Imran Shah’s writings released

Padmashree author honoured by literary bodies on his 93rd birthday

SIVASAGAR, Nov 24: The fourth volume of Padmashree awardee and former Asom Sahitya Sabha president Imran Shah’s writings was released on his 93rd birthday at a function held at his Dhai Ali residence on Saturday. The event drew a large gathering of well-wishers, admirers and family members.

The volume was formally released by Sibsagar University vice chancellor Dr Mahadev Patgiri, Jagannath Baruah University vice chancellor Dr Jyoti Prasad Saikia, former Asom Sahitya Sabha vice president Padmashree Prahlad Tasha and former Sibsagar College professor Ghana Hazarika.

Several organisations, including Sivasagar Jila Sahitya Sabha, Rangpur Sahitya Sabha and Arunudoi Sahitya Sabha, felicitated the renowned poet, storyteller, footballer and former professor on the occasion, wishing him good health and a long life. Expressing his gratitude, Shah said he had nothing special to add on the day but urged young people to study with sincerity so they can contribute meaningfully to society while pursuing their individual aspirations.
