TEZPUR, Dec 9: The First Level Checking (FLC) of Electronic Voting Machines for Sonitpur district ahead of the 2026 Assam Legislative Assembly Elections will be carried out from December 11 to 25 at the EVM/VVPAT Warehouse of the Sonitpur Election Office.
Officials said all arrangements have been made strictly in accordance with the Election Commission of India’s Manual of EVMs.

Armed police personnel will guard the venue, while political parties have been informed and asked to send authorised representatives to witness the inspection.
Webcasting facilities have also been arranged to ensure transparency in the process.
ECI-appointed Observer Shania Kayem Mize, Deputy DEO of Arunachal Pradesh and State Nodal Officer (EVM), will visit and monitor the FLC on December 11.
The Election Officer of Sonitpur has requested all stakeholders to extend full cooperation to ensure the smooth and timely completion of the FLC exercise.
