GUWAHATI, Dec 18: Airtel Payments Bank, in partnership with NPCI Bharat BillPay Limited, has enabled electric vehicle (EV) wallet recharges through the Bharat Connect (BBPS) platform on the Airtel Thanks app, marking a significant step toward simplifying digital payments in India’s growing EV ecosystem.

Until now, EV owners had to rely on individual wallets provided by different Charging Point Operators (CPOs) to make payments for vehicle charging.

To use the service, customers can log in to the Airtel Thanks app, select the “Recharge EV” option under the Pay Bills section, enter their registered mobile number along with the desired recharge amount, and complete the payment securely via Bharat Connect-enabled applications.

The recharge amount is credited instantly to the EV wallet, ensuring immediate access to funds for charging.

The facility is available to all Airtel Thanks app users, offering a convenient and secure experience.
