Jorhat, Dec 31: Sanitation workers play a remarkable role in keeping nature protected. Roads, fields and surroundings are often filled with garbage, and it is these workers who clean everything. Despite facing demands and scolding from people, they continue their duties unitedly. As a gesture of love and respect towards them, the well-known social organisation Shikoli of Teok distributed a blanket and a shawl to each sanitation worker today, the last day of the year.
At the event anchored by Shikoli’s chief secretary Arupjyoti Hazarika, Teok Town Committee chairman Lucky Borbora was present. In his speech, Borbora said that without the efforts of these workers, the piled-up waste and stench would make it impossible for people to live comfortably. Everyone appreciates the selfless work carried out by Shikoli.
