Final Executive Committee Meeting of the BJP at Jorhat

Nearly a Hundred People Join the BJP

Jorhat, Jan 09: The executive committee meeting of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) was held today at Hotel Kyaras Garden Riverry in Jorhat. The meeting was attended by Harish Trivedi, State In-charge of the BJP Assam Pradesh.

Following the executive committee meeting, a press conference was addressed by Jorhat District BJP President Shantanu Pujari. While briefing the media, he shared the decisions taken during the meeting and spoke about the resolutions adopted in view of the upcoming elections. He stated that several important decisions were taken at today’s meeting, along with detailed discussions on the forthcoming elections.

He further said that senior leaders were present at the meeting attended by Harish Trivedi, including National Secretary Kamakhya Prasad Tasa, Jorhat District In-charge Mrigank Barman, State Secretary Siddhanku Ankur Barua, State Vice-President Tapan Kumar Gogoi, and State Secretary Laxinath Tasa.

This executive committee meeting was the final one of the BJP ahead of the elections. During the meeting, future party programmes and political resolutions were adopted, and gratitude was expressed to the Assam Government for its initiatives in the current political scenario. Special thanks were conveyed for various development works in Jorhat district, including the completion of two flyovers and construction of two more, the Bir Lachit Kshetra at Holongapar, renovation and conversion of the historic Jorhat Jail—associated with freedom fighters including martyr Kushal Konwar—into a museum, construction of a Martyrs’ Memorial Park, installation of a grand statue of Maniram Dewan along with a park near Tokolai, construction of a new Commissioner’s Office, reconstruction of the historic Chowk Bazaar, near-completion of the four-lane National Highway connecting Jorhat and Dibrugarh, construction of several roads, and beautification works across the district.

Gratitude was also expressed to the Assam Government for the renovation of Nehru Park, Gandhi Park, Bishnuram Barua Hall, installation of street lights, and numerous other development projects that have helped take Jorhat forward on the path of development.

Meanwhile, in today’s executive committee meeting, a district election committee was formed with Kandarp Bordoloi appointed as convenor to ensure smooth conduct of the upcoming elections. It was also mentioned that large-scale election management committees have been constituted in all four विधानसभा constituencies. Following the meeting, under the leadership of the BJP Jorhat District Committee, nearly a hundred people formally joined the Bharatiya Janata Party, Shantanu Pujari said during the press conference.

Former MLA Rana Goswami and other party leaders were present at the press conference.
