HDFC Bank opens startup lounges in Bengaluru and Guwahati

GUWAHATI, Jan 16, 2026: HDFC Bank on Thursday announced the launch of dedicated Startup Lounges in Bengaluru and Guwahati, reinforcing its engagement with India’s growing startup ecosystem on the occasion of National Startup Day.

The exclusive lounges have been opened at the HSR Layout, 24th Main Road branch in Bengaluru, and the GS Road branch in Guwahati. Designed as dedicated spaces for startups, the lounges will offer a professional environment for founders to work, ideate and network, while also enabling interaction with investors, venture capital firms and other ecosystem stakeholders. The facilities will also host events related to the startup community.

Sampath Kumar, Group Head – Retail Branch Banking and Alternate Banking Channel & Partnerships, HDFC Bank, said Bengaluru’s Startup Lounge is expected to function as a key networking hub for founders, allowing them to collaborate with peers and access the bank’s products and services under the Startup Buildup programme.

Arun Mediratta, Group Head – Retail Branch Banking and Alternate Banking Channel & Partnerships, HDFC Bank, said Guwahati is fast emerging as a startup hub in the Northeast, and the new lounge will provide founders in the region with a space to work and engage with the wider entrepreneurial ecosystem.

Under its Startup Buildup programme, HDFC Bank offers a range of services including startup banking current accounts, digital collection and payment solutions, trade forex and offshore banking, commercial cards, ESOP trust and share capital accounts, customised health insurance, salary accounts and credit facilities under the Central Guarantee Scheme for Startups, subject to eligibility. The bank said it continues to work closely with startups across sectors such as payments, lending, API development, government solutions and artificial intelligence. Through initiatives like Tech Innovators and participation in government-backed schemes and CSR programmes, HDFC Bank said it remains committed to supporting innovation and entrepreneurship across the country.
