BISWANATH CHARIALI, Jan 17: The Jyoti-Bishnu Samanay Khetra, venue of the 95th annual state conference of the Srimanta Sankardev Sangha, has assumed a deeply spiritual ambience with the formal installation of the Guru Asan (Singhasan) on Friday.
Located between Dhalaibil and Soibari, the expansive conference site has begun drawing devotees from different parts of the state as preparations gather momentum ahead of the three-day conference scheduled for February 6, 7 and 8.
Regular visits by devotees have transformed the area into a major centre of attraction and reverence.
The Guru Asan was installed in the temporary Namghar set up at the venue amid traditional religious rites and rituals.
The ceremony was led by Pabitra Pran Bora, president of the Cultural Research Council of the Srimanta Sankardev Sangha, in the presence of Sangha padadhikar Bhabendra Nath Deka, general secretary Kushal Thakuria, Naduar MLA Padma Hazarika, Tezpur MLA Prithibiraj Rabha, and members of the reception and state committees.
The installation was followed by Nam Prasanga and Khol Prasanga, adding to the devotional atmosphere.
Earlier, the Singhasan was ceremonially brought from the Tezpur Zila Namghar of the Srimanta Sankardev Sangha in a procession by devotees and formally established at the conference site on Friday.
Addressing the media, Padma Hazarika, working president of the reception committee, said primary preparations for the state-level conference have been completed by various sub-committees. He informed that the venue has been provided with seven designated entry and exit points and that road construction works leading to the site have already been completed, with further arrangements progressing steadily.
