HOWRAGHAT, Jan 31: The three-day annual programme organised by the South West Regional Sanatan Brahma Dharma Prachar Seva Samiti officially began on Saturday at the Brahma Yajna Mandir premises in Rongkut Ganeshpur, Karbi Anglong. Devotees from across the region attended the opening, which followed a structured religious itinerary.
The afternoon session commenced at 3:00 PM with the formal reception of delegates and devotees. The Main Gate was inaugurated by prominent social worker Jamin Basumatary, while the Delegate Camp was opened by Naren Basumatary. As evening fell, the Mangalik Yajna (holy fire ritual) was performed by Priest Maheshwar Khakhlary, with numerous Brahma Dharma followers participating in sacrificial offerings to seek spiritual blessings.
The day concluded with a ‘Subject Selection’ meeting presided over by Tarun Chandra Brahma, president of the Samiti, to discuss the committee’s future roadmap. The atmosphere remained devotional, setting the tone for the extensive spiritual discourses and rituals planned for the remaining two days of the festival.
