DHUBRI, Feb 7: The Samajwadi Party (SP) intensified its 2026 Assam Assembly election campaign in Dhubri district on Saturday, focusing on opposition unity and justice in the Zubeen Garg case.
Mahavir Singh, SP’s Northeast in-charge, visited the region and reaffirmed support for Congress to oust BJP from Assam. Paying tribute to late singer Zubeen Garg, Singh demanded a CBI investigation into his death, questioning why central agencies had not yet taken over the case.
The SP aims to combine regional alliances and local issues to strengthen its foothold in Dhubri’s five assembly segments ahead of the polls.
