HAMREN, Feb 7: Six newly completed developmental projects were inaugurated across villages under Rongmongwe Development Block in Karbi Anglong, marking a boost to rural infrastructure and livelihoods.
Funded by the Ministry of Development of North Eastern Region (MDoNER) through the North Eastern Council (NEC) for 2021–2025, the projects were opened by Longki Phangcho, Member Secretary of NEC and retired IAS officer. The total investment amounted to Rs 3.22 crore.
Facilities handed over include: a Multipurpose Training Centre in Rongmongwe Block, mushroom farms at Dalamara and Kohora Chandra Sing Rongpi Village, an open market shed with water and sanitation at Dalamara, a piggery farm for Self-Help Groups at Diring Village and a training centre with hostel and market shed at Kohora Chandra Sing Rongpi Village.
Phangcho, accompanied by NEC officials, KAAC members, Rongmongwe Block leaders, engineers and community representatives, inspected the projects. He praised the quality of construction and potential impact on the local economy, assuring residents of continued NEC support and future developmental schemes to improve living standards.
