NFR introduces additional stoppages for 19 trains

GUWAHATI, Feb 24: Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR) has announced additional stoppages for 19 trains at selected stations across Assam to improve passenger convenience and regional connectivity. The phased implementation runs from February 20 to 28, 2026.

Key changes include:

From Feb 20: Guwahati-Silchar-Guwahati Express stops at Salchapra.

From Feb 21: Guwahati-Dibrugarh Express at Kampur; Rangiya-Silchar Express at Jagiroad.

From Feb 22: Guwahati-Ledo Express at Kampur; Kolkata-Sairang Express at Katakhal.

From Feb 23: Silchar-Sealdah Kanchanjunga Express at Lanka; Alipurduar-Silghat Town Rajyarani Express at Amoni; Kolkata-Sairang Express at Katakhal; Guwahati-Sairang Express at Katlicherra; Agartala-Silchar Express at Suprakandi Halt.

From Feb 24: Mariani-Guwahati Express at Barpathar; Deoghar-Agartala Express at Hojai; Sealdah-Silchar Express at Lanka; Kolkata-Silghat Express at Senchoa.

From Feb 25-26: Additional stoppages at Jamunamukh, Chaparmukh, Kampur, Lanka and Hojai for several trains including Guwahati-Silchar, Rangiya-New Tinsukia, Silchar-Rangiya and Avadh Assam Express.

The enhanced stoppages aim to benefit daily commuters, long-distance passengers and local residents by improving accessibility and connectivity. The Mariani-Guwahati Express service at Barpathar was inaugurated by MP Kamakhya Prasad Tasa, highlighting the importance of regional rail development. NFR continues to focus on improving passenger amenities and addressing growing transportation needs.
